Rotary club excites nursing mothers, others at annual free medical services

The Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja in conjunction with Rotary Action Group for Family Health and Aids Prevention with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has commenced its annual free nationwide health services.

The project tagged: “Rotary Family Health Days” started today (Monday) at Ogudu Primary Health Center, Ogudu, Lagos and will run for three days.

The Assistant Local Government Immunization Officer, Alabi Juliana who was present at flag-off of the event and spoke with NewsClick Nigeria said the Rotary Family Health Days is a good initiative which is helpful to wives, children and the community at large.

President of Rotary club of New Lagos, Ikeja Rotarian Olumide Lawal said Rotary Club have been engaging in family health for over 30 years and today’s even is a further testament of the Club keeping to its ideas.

Lawal explained that the Club aims to help the society live heathy and better.

The  health services provided free to people include; Polio immunization, Malaria screening, HIV testing, Hepatitis B and C; Diabetes screening, hypertension screening, tuberculosis screening, cervical/breast/prostate cancer screening and more.
