Malam Mani, the People’s Democratic Party’s nominee for deputy governor in Zamfara State, has refuted rumors that Dauda Lawal Dare, the party’s nominee in the state, was defecting to the All Progressives Congress.

Speaking to reporters in Gusau on Sunday, Mani claimed that there was not a shred of truth in the alleged account.

He noted, “Dauda Lawal Dare has never thought of defecting to APC.”

He insisted that it was a complete fabrication spread by a group of troublemakers who duped the general public.

“Dauda has no plan whatsoever of living the PDP and will contest and win the governorship election under the platform of the PDP in 2023”.

“Those who are spreading the rumors of Dauda’s defection to APC are those who are not comfortable with this growing popularly,” Mani said.

He emphasized that Dauda was still in the running and that he would pursue the matter until, by God’s help, he eventually won the election.

Given the high number of persons defecting to the PDP from the APC and other parties on a daily basis, Mani expressed confidence that the PDP would win Zamfara State.

In order to prevent the state from completely disintegrating owing to ongoing security issues, he urged the residents to support Lawal Dare’s candidacy.
