Three siblings, including 11-year-old twins and their five-year-old sister, have been found dead on a farm near Owena Army Barracks in Ondo State.

Abayomi Jimoh, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Sunday.

The deceased children were identified as 11-year-old twins Joshua Jonah and Jacob Jonah, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah.

Jimoh said the children had accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm on Friday before later leaving to return home.

Their father reportedly became concerned after returning home and discovering that the children were missing. This prompted a search for the siblings.

According to Jimoh, the bodies of the three children were found on Saturday, September 5, “around the bank of a small river within the farm”.

The police have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Felix Ohagwu, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

The command said it was “diligently documenting all available facts and circumstances surrounding the unfortunate occurrence” to establish the cause of the children’s deaths.

Ohagwu also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that the police command would work to uncover all relevant facts surrounding the tragedy.
