A female student of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Isoko North Locak Government Area, has been hacked to death by her lover over allegations of infidelity, The Nation reports.
It was equally said that the lovers cohabited off campus in a rented room.
The suspect is a graduate of the institution.
Sources said trouble started after the suspect accused the deceased of infidelity on Saturday night and a fight broke out leading to her death. They both have a child together.
The suspect took the body of the lady to the State General Hospital in the morning where she was confirmed dead, it was learnt.
A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “It happened on Saturday at Ozoro. A guy beat his girlfriend to death with a machete.
“People said he did it under the influence, and that he didn’t run away after killing her. Instead, he rushed her to a general hospital.
“I just confirmed that the girl was a student of the school, but the guy is not. Maybe he has graduated.
“The guy must have been on drugs last night It was this morning that the guy regained himself.
“After seeing what he had done, he rushed the girl to the hospital.”
