The Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday summoned the Chairman of Sagamu Local Government Area in Ogun State, Mr. Afolabi Odulate, and two others for interrogation in connection with the recent bloody cult clashes in Sagamu, which resulted in the deaths of 20 people.
According to reports, other people invited for questioning by the DSS included the lawmaker representing Sagamu 2, Mr. Adeniran Ademola (also known as Sapele), and a woman named Ifeoluwa Akinyemi.

The source said: “The three were invited by the DSS for questioning to aid in further investigation of the mayhem in the town, which lasted for over four days and claimed several lives.”

Ifeoluwa Akinyemi was reportedly released following an interrogation session.

Last Wednesday, six suspects, including the legislator representing Sagamu State Constituency 1, Mr. Damilare Mohammed, were apprehended. Mohammed was taken into custody for offering refuge to the escaping cult members at his official residence in Abeokuta. During the operation, a cache of dangerous weapons, including firearms, was discovered.

Sources suggest that additional individuals may be requested for questioning in due course.
