Also known as Sallah, Eid al-Adha will involve the slaughtering of ram during the period known as the “festival of sacrifice”.

This is the second great holiday in Islam.

The first is Eid al-Fitr, which commemorates the end of Ramadan.

In a statement issued by the National Moonsighting Committee, the Sultan advised Muslims to intensify prayers during the period.

It also announced Thursday, June 30, as the beginning day of Dhul Hijjah.

“Eidul Adha will be on Saturday, 10th Zul-Hijjah 1443H (9th July 2022) In Sha Allah,” the statement read in part.
