The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency, Dr Abdullahi Ahmed, has praised Governor Uba Sani as a living example of the democratic ideals associated with June 12, saying his leadership reflects justice, accountability, inclusion, and service delivery.

In a statement released on Friday to mark the 2026 Democracy Day, Ahmed said the governor’s history as a pro-democracy activist and his current approach to governance show a consistent dedication to the principles that shaped the June 12 struggle.

He described June 12 as a defining moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey, symbolising the sacrifices made for constitutional rule, freedom, and fundamental human rights.

According to him, Sani’s evolution from activist to governor highlights the continued relevance of those democratic values in present-day leadership.

“Governor Uba Sani’s leadership reflects the true spirit of June 12. He stood with millions of Nigerians in the struggle for democracy and continues to uphold those values through inclusive governance, transparency and policies that place the welfare of citizens at the centre of government activities,” he said.

Ahmed also pointed to the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, particularly in road construction, rural access projects, and community development initiatives, noting that they are improving livelihoods and creating economic opportunities across Kaduna State.

He added that the administration’s focus on equitable development and people-centred policies aligns with the aspirations of Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement.

“Democracy is best measured by its impact on the lives of the people. Governor Uba Sani has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy through policies and projects that promote growth, inclusion and shared prosperity,” he added.

He congratulated the governor and residents of Kaduna State on Democracy Day and urged continued support for democratic institutions and national development.
