Sanwo-Olu, Ododo, other Govs congratulate Aiyedatiwa on election win

Following his decisive victory in the recently concluded Ondo State governorship election, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has received congratulatory messages from fellow governors.

Aiyedatiwa secured 366,781 votes, significantly outpacing his closest competitor, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.

Reacting to the outcome, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their overwhelming support for Aiyedatiwa and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his victory in the Ondo State gubernatorial election,” he said in a terse message on X on Sunday.

“I thank the people of Ondo State for their unwavering support for our party, and acknowledge the foundation laid by the late Governor Akeredolu, which Governor Aiyedatiwa has built upon.

“Our campaign’s success reflects the strong leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the dedication of all the campaign council members.”

 

 

For Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, the victory of Aiyedatiwa is “an endorsement of good governance under the APC administration.”

He said the outcome reflected voters’ confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and thanked residents of Ondo for reaffirming their trust in the ruling party.

“The victory recorded by Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC places a fresh challenge on the Ondo governor to deliver even more for the state,” Oyebanji said.

He commended Abdullahi Ganduje, APC national chairman; the progressive governors’ forum; the party’s national campaign council; and other stakeholders for their hard work in securing electoral success.

“We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo state,” Ododo said in a statement by Ismaila Isah, his media aide.
