Sanwo-Olu sends condolences to victims of Lagos train crash

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has expressed sympathy to those hurt in the train disaster that happened on Thursday morning.

According to earlier reports by NewsClickng, a passenger train collided with a Lagos State Government staff bus while it was going from Ikotun to Alausa, the state secretariat, in the PWD area of the Lagos, causing two confirmed deaths and an indeterminate number of injuries.

On Thursday, the accident happened just after 7 a.m.

Sanwo-Olu expressed his gratitude for the rescue team’s efforts in a tweet and offered prayers for the families of the victims.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the train/bus accident . The vehicle was conveying staff of the Lagos state Government, our staff who serve the state in different capacities. Let’s say a prayer for the families and a prayer of mercy and protection for our state.

My thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. A big thank you to well- meaning Lagosians who immediately joined in rescue efforts. Our first responders and emergency services are on the ground and we will share more information shortly,” he tweeted.
