Reprieve has come the way of intending pilgrims from Nigerian who are yet to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia, The Nation reports.
The Saudi Arabia’ General Authority on Civil Aviation (GACA) has extended the deadline for the closure of the airspace till July 7.
This, The Nation learnt followed a high-level discussion between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
The Nigerian team was led by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
There are about 3,000 Nigerian pilgrims yet to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.
While Max Air and Azman airlines will continue airlifting operations, the commission has concluded arrangements with Flynas to operate three rescue flights for pilgrims in Kano and Abuja.
