Former President Muhammadu Buhari stated on Wednesday that Nigeria’s security and economy improved significantly during his eight-year tenure.
He made this remark while receiving members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his Daura country home.
Buhari insisted that before his government took office in 2015, security and economic challenges plagued the nation. He claimed his administration successfully tackled terrorism and economic decline.
“The security and economy improved significantly under my administration compared to what we met in 2015. Things will continue to improve in Nigeria,” he said.
He noted that only those in power understand the complexities of governance, adding that leaders often face obstacles in implementing policies.
Chairman of the Katsina Correspondents’ Chapel, Alhaji Yusuf Jargaba, praised Buhari for addressing terrorism, banditry, and other security threats.
“Your dedication and selfless service have kept Nigeria united and indivisible,” Jargaba stated.
