The Senate has approved the nomination of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff.
The confirmation came after the Senate considered reports presented by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army (Katsina Central).

Lieutenant General Oluyede had been appointed to serve as the Acting Chief of Army Staff following the illness and subsequent passing of Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
