The Senate has approved Musa Aliyu as the official Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.
His appointment came after a screening session during Thursday’s plenary.
The screening commenced at approximately 11:50 am, following a motion by the Senate Leader, Bamidele Opeyemi, to temporarily amend the Senate rules to permit the entry of external individuals into the chamber.
Aliyu, an attorney and the Attorney-General of Jigawa State underwent the screening process within the Committee of a Whole, presided over by Deputy President Jibirin Barau.
On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu submitted a formal request to the Senate, seeking Aliyu’s confirmation as the agency’s chairman.
