The Senate on Tuesday suspended its rules to allow family members and close relatives of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah to attend a valedictory session held in his honor.

During the session, Senate President Godswill Akpabio directed attention to the late senator’s seat, which was draped with the Nigerian flag and adorned with four symbolic candles.

Akpabio noted that the day was dedicated to remembering Senator Ubah, who passed away on July 26, 2024, at the age of 52.

He described the late businessman from Otolo, Nnewi North, as a visionary leader with remarkable empathy, a champion of economic empowerment, and a staunch advocate for community development.

Akpabio further stated that Ubah’s death represents a significant loss to Nigeria’s political landscape.
