The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, approved the promotion of 49 senior officers in the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Friday.
In a statement from Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, the SGF confirmed that 21 Corps Commanders have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), 11 Deputy Corps Commanders to Corps Commanders, and 17 Assistant Corps Commanders to Deputy Corps Commanders. Additionally, three Assistant Corps Marshals are set to retire immediately.
Promoted Assistant Corps Marshals include: Corps Secretary ACM LD Shehu (fsi), Corps Legal Adviser ACM KD Gonji (mni), Corps Public Education Officer ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide (mni), Corps Intelligence Officer ACM G Ntukidem (fsi), Corps Provost ACM AT Hassan (fdc), Corps Budget Officer ACM MR Sabiya, and Corps Transport Standardisation Officer ACM KA Ibrahim. Other promotions include Sector Commander Bayelsa ACM CM Onukwubiri, ACM TA Mohammed, ACM in charge of Command Administration and Strategy ACM SU Galadanchi, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS3HQ Yola ACM YA Haruna, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS1HQ Kaduna ACM A Umar, ACM in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation ACM EF Akinlade, Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS4HQ Jos ACM AA Irelewuyi, Head of Session for Personnel, Administration and Human Resources Department ACM YD Dio (fsi), ACM in charge of Federal Operations ACM ST Agure, Commandant of the Road Marshal Assistant Training School in Shendam ACM M Yakubu, and Acting Zonal Commanding Officer RS11HQ Osogbo ACM HA Godwin.
The three senior officers retiring immediately are ACM DI Okuobeya, ACM AS Ochi, and ACM Adekanye (fsi).
Among the 11 promoted Corps Commanders is the Corps Information Technology Officer and Technical Adviser to the Corps Marshal, Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan (MNSE). The newly promoted Deputy Corps Commanders include DCC EE Uzoma and 16 others.
Akume expressed satisfaction with the transparency and objectivity of the promotion process, urging the appointed officers to recommit to the FRSC’s mission of reducing road traffic crashes and fostering a safer motoring environment.
He emphasized that these promotions align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to recognizing excellence, diligence, and hard work as part of the Hope Agenda administration.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed congratulated the newly promoted officers for their outstanding performances, reminding them that each promotion carries increased responsibility. He encouraged them to bring focus, dedication, and passion to their new roles, while also advising those not promoted to remain hopeful and loyal to the organization.
The Corps Marshal further promised to enhance the welfare of all personnel and urged them to stay motivated and dedicated to achieving the FRSC’s corporate goals.
