SheFindsHerVoice hosted a landmark International Women’s Day (IWD) event themed “Unlearning Silence: The Power You Gain When You Finally Speak Up,” designed to inspire women to discover their voices and express themselves with confidence and clarity.

The theme resonated deeply with the lived experiences of many women who have been conditioned to remain silent in their careers, relationships and wider society. It underscored a transformative journey—encouraging participants to move beyond self-doubt and suppression towards boldness, visibility and influence.

Held on 21 March 2026, the event featured a series of candid and inspiring conversations led by experienced speakers and panellists. These sessions provided practical insights on overcoming fear, navigating self-doubt and challenging societal limitations. Beyond the discussions, attendees were given the opportunity to connect with like-minded women, share personal experiences and build meaningful networks within a supportive and empowering environment.

The keynote address was delivered by Phil Idokogi, Founder of The YouAdvantage, whose presentation set the tone for the event. She was joined by distinguished panellists, including Morolake Philip-Ladipo, a Corporate Communications Leader, and Abimbola Fabelurin, Service Delivery Executive at Microsoft Nigeria. In recognition of their contributions, all speakers and panellists were presented with appreciation awards. The keynote speaker was further honoured with a plaque conferring her as the Life Matron of the community.

The founder of SheFindsHerVoice, Dr Olajumoke Aleoke Malachi, also took the opportunity to recognise a deeply personal influence—her mother, Elizabeth Babarinde—who was presented with an appreciation award for nurturing her voice and instilling the courage that ultimately inspired the creation of the community.

Beyond its annual IWD celebration, SheFindsHerVoice remains committed to empowering women through a range of impactful initiatives. These include safe community spaces, monthly webinars, mentorship and leadership conversations, workshops focused on confidence and communication, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities.

The platform also drives visibility and professional growth through initiatives such as the Wednesday LinkedIn Challenge, employer branding training powered by AI tools, and structured vision onboarding sessions that provide actionable strategies for both career and personal development.

Participants left the event with practical insights, strengthened networks and a renewed sense of empowerment to speak up and thrive. Through initiatives such as this, SheFindsHerVoice continues to equip women with the tools, confidence and support needed to rise, own their stories and make their voices heard.
