Eid is a beautiful time filled with worship, joy, and sunnah (the way of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him). But the blessings of Eid don’t have to end after the celebration. You can keep the spirit alive by adding simple sunnahs to your daily routine.
These small acts bring peace, reward, and help us follow the Prophet’s example.
1. Saying Bismillah Before Everything:
Start every task by saying “Bismillah” (In the name of Allah).
Whether you’re eating, leaving the house, or starting work — this simple sunnah brings blessings and protection.
2. Using the Miswak:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) loved using the miswak to clean his teeth.
Try using a miswak or toothbrush before prayer or when you wake up. It’s a great way to stay clean and follow a sunnah.
3. Smiling at Others:
Smiling is a sunnah and an act of charity.
A kind smile can brighten someone’s day and earn you reward, especially after Eid, when we’re spreading joy and kindness.
4. Saying Salaam First:
Always be the first to say “Assalamu Alaikum”.
It strengthens bonds between Muslims and follows the Prophet’s teaching. Make it a habit to greet others with peace.
5. Praying Sunnah Prayers:
Along with the five daily prayers, try to pray:
2 rak’ahs before Fajr
2 rak’ahs after Maghrib
2 rak’ahs after Isha
These extra prayers are beloved to the Prophet and bring more reward.
6. Sleeping on the Right Side:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) slept on his right side, saying a short du’a before sleeping.
You can do the same by saying:
“Allahumma bismika amootu wa ahyaa”
(“O Allah, in Your name I die and live.”)
7. Making Dhikr Daily:
After Eid, keep remembering Allah by saying simple phrases like:
SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah)
Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah)
Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)
You can say them after prayer or during quiet moments.
8. Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.
After Eid, try to fast once a week to keep the habit of worship alive and gain extra reward.
Conclusion:
Following the sunnah doesn’t have to be hard. These small actions take little time but bring big rewards. After Eid, keep your heart close to Allah by making these sunnahs a part of your everyday life. Start with one or two, and build from there.
Remember: it’s the small, consistent deeds that are most loved by Allah.
