Renowned gospel singer Osinachi Egbu, popularly known as Sinach, alongside her husband, Joseph Egbu, has praised Abia State Governor Alex Otti for what they described as purposeful and forward-looking leadership that has brought noticeable improvements across major sectors of the state’s economy.
Sinach made the remarks on Friday after paying a courtesy visit to Governor Otti at his country home in Umuehim Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area.
She explained that the visit was to express gratitude to the governor for his support of a medical outreach organised by the Joseph and Sinach Egbu Foundation, which was recently held in Aba, the state’s commercial centre.
According to her, the Otti-led administration has embraced people-focused governance, driven by a clear vision and well-thought-out policies aimed at improving the welfare of Abia residents.
The gospel singer and her husband, both natives of Abia State, said they were impressed by the visible progress across the state, describing Otti as an “intentional governor” whose influence can be seen in infrastructure development, environmental sanitation, and increased citizen participation.
“We are from Abia, and we can see what the governor is doing. These are exemplary things. We came to say thank you for his visionary work and to let him know that we truly appreciate it,” Sinach said.
“He is such an intentional governor, and we are seeing the results. We came to appreciate him and also to thank him for the medical support,” she added.
She noted that the governor’s backing enabled the foundation to deliver vital medical services, leading to life-saving interventions for many residents.
Highlighting key areas of progress, Sinach mentioned improved road infrastructure, a cleaner and more lively environment, the deployment of electric buses, and greater public involvement in governance as clear signs of the administration’s impact.
“You can feel that the state of the environment has improved, and people are now more involved in what is happening in government,” she said.
She also encouraged emerging gospel artistes to remain dedicated to sharing the message of Jesus Christ and to stay motivated at all times, stressing that the gospel is good news that must be preached continually.
Sinach further revealed plans for a major gospel concert in Abia State, advising fans to watch out for the event.
Also speaking, Joseph Egbu, who heads the foundation’s medical outreach programme, described the recent medical mission held at the School of Health Sciences and Management Technology, Aba, as a major success.
He disclosed that more than 20 major surgeries were performed, while thousands of residents received various forms of medical care.
Commenting on governance in Abia under Otti, Joseph said the difference was “incomparable,” noting that the governor’s leadership had reshaped governance in the state.
“It feels like Abia is having a governor for the first time,” he said.
Addressing social media rumours about challenges in their marriage, Joseph dismissed them as unfounded, affirming Sinach as his lifelong partner.
“This is my wife, and she will remain my wife forever. I am proud and honoured to be called her husband,” he said.
