Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has ordered the urgent “general” renovation of former President Shehu Shagari’s first mansion, which was destroyed by fire last weekend.
The governor issued the directive Monday, according to his press secretary, Abubakar Bawa, immediately after visiting the resident with Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko to examine the extent of damage.
He described the fire as an unfortunate, catastrophic incident that attempted to deface the historic building.
