Troops of the Joint Military Task Force in Plateau State, Operation Enduring Peace, have “neutralised three terrorists” and “arrested two individuals attempting to burn residential buildings” in the state.

The statement was made by the Media Information Officer of the task force, Captain Chinonso Oteh, on Friday.

According to Oteh, during a targeted operation in Dutse Uku community, Jos North Local Government Area, troops apprehended two people “masquerading as security operatives” who were involved in arson and violent activities. The suspects, dressed in tactical black uniforms, are now in custody, while two others with gunshot injuries are receiving medical care.

In another operation in Karem, Wase Local Government Area, the military “neutralised three insurgents” after disrupting a large-scale terrorist movement. Oteh said the operation was a result of the strategic deployment of specialised counter-terrorism units to strengthen the state’s security.

He added, “At approximately 11:45 pm, vigilant troops responding to a distress call on sporadic shooting at Dutse Uku general area intercepted and apprehended 2 individuals masquerading as security operatives. These impostors, dressed in tactical black uniforms, were caught actively participating in the arson of residential properties and the orchestration of violence within the Community.”

The task force urged residents to stay alert and support ongoing efforts by reporting suspicious activities to authorities, emphasizing that “through continued cooperation and the current strategic offensive, the military remains committed to ensuring the permanent restoration of safety and order for all citizens.”
