Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, has approved the commencement of a process to appoint new permanent secretaries in the state public service, inviting suitably qualified civil servants to submit expressions of interest.
In a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mrs Ngozi Iwouno, applicants must be confirmed officers within the Anambra State Public Service and belong to the directorate cadre.
Eligible candidates are required to hold a rank not below Deputy Director and not above Director, with a minimum of two years remaining before retirement.
The notice also extends eligibility to qualified officers outside the Anambra State Civil Service, provided they are within the same directorate cadre.
Interested candidates are to apply via the state government’s online portal, print their completed forms, and submit them to the Office of the Head of Service in Awka on or before 8 April 2026. Only shortlisted applicants will advance to the next stage of the selection process.
Permanent secretaries serve as the administrative heads of ministries, overseeing smooth operations and the implementation of government policies.
The initiative by Governor Soludo is aimed at strengthening the civil service, improving administrative efficiency, and enhancing governance.
At present, the Anambra State Public Service has 19 permanent secretaries and two auditors-general.
