Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has dedicated his second term in office to God, describing both his first tenure and re-election as divinely ordained.

Soludo made the remarks on Sunday during the second-term inauguration thanksgiving service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.

He said the event was meant to dedicate the next four years to God and highlighted that his rise to governorship occurred at the right time, attributing it to the will of God.

Soludo also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Anambra State.

“Exactly last week, we were at the International Convention Centre to thank God for the successful completion of four years in office.

“Today, the Sunday following the oath of office, we are here to thank God for a successful inauguration and to hand over the entire second tenure to God,” he said.

The governor underscored that Anambra remained in God’s hands, adding that his administration was divinely appointed to serve the people at this moment.

Drawing inspiration from the biblical account of Jesus and Lazarus, Soludo affirmed that God’s timing is perfect, noting that his administration would continue to rely on divine guidance.

He mentioned that during the election campaign, his team prayed for the ability to exceed expectations and to leave the state better than they found it.

According to him, the administration will continue to seek divine wisdom, good health, and courage to fulfill its mandate, expressing optimism that the state will experience greater progress over the next four years.

Soludo thanked stakeholders for their support during his first term and called for strengthened collaboration to enhance performance in his second tenure.

He also commended members of his cabinet, whom he described as the “solution team,” for their sacrifices and contributions to the state’s development.

The governor further expressed appreciation to the Presidency, the Federal Government, the international community, private sector, religious bodies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths for their support.

He encouraged them to maintain their cooperation to enable the government to consolidate its achievements and advance the state.

Earlier, the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael-Francis Crotty, praised the notable developments recorded during Soludo’s first term.
