Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his return as Osun State governor, describing the election result as evidence of the trust voters have in his administration.

Adeleke, who ran on the Accord Party platform, secured 511,067 votes in the August 15 governorship election to defeat APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

The governor won 19 of the 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji took 11.

Soludo, in a message released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, also commended Osun voters for participating peacefully in the election.

The statement read, “The Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his successful re-election for a second term following last Saturday’s polls.

“The governor equally celebrated the people of Osun State, the voters who exercised their democratic right with peaceful conviction, as their participation reinforces the strength of our democracy and demonstrates the power of citizens to shape their collective future.

“As Adeleke embarks on his renewed journey of leadership, Soludo posits that true governance thrives when leaders rise above partisan differences to act magnanimously and focus on shared goals of development.

“So, all political actors in Osun State, including the triumphant ruling party, the opposition, and civil society, are urged to embrace peace and unity for collective progress.

“Soludo wishes Governor Ademola Adeleke a successful tenure of his renewed mandate, guided by magnanimity, wisdom, and courage for greater development that will yield lasting benefits for the people of Osun State.”

The congratulatory message came as reactions continued to trail Adeleke’s victory, with stakeholders urging the governor to bring the different political camps together and sustain development across the state.
