Some Tinubu appointees more interested in their pockets- Buba Galadima

A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, criticized some of President Bola Tinubu’s political appointees on Friday, accusing them of prioritizing personal gain over national development.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Galadima called for a shift in mindset among the appointees, urging them to put the country first.

“Some of his appointees are more focused on their own pockets than on service delivery,” Galadima remarked. “Nobody is truly interested in developing Nigeria; they are more concerned with enriching themselves. Leadership should be about setting an example.”

Galadima pointed to India’s success story, highlighting how the country invested in sectors like medicine and information technology. “India managed the remittances from its citizens abroad very well, and today, 75 percent of the heads of global conglomerates are Indians due to their focus on IT and medical sciences.”

He reiterated his concern that some of Tinubu’s appointees were more self-serving than focused on public service.

During the program, Galadima also expressed disappointment with Tinubu’s administration, saying the president had underperformed in his first year.

“I expected him to do better and to hit the ground running,” he said, adding that the president must address the nation’s foreign exchange crisis, which has seen the naira struggle severely.
