The South-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress has expressed its preparedness to rally support for the re-election of Bola Tinubu in the next presidential election.
This position was contained in a communiqué issued after the APC South-East Zonal Expanded Executive Meeting, which was made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday.
The meeting was chaired by the APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu. It was attended by recently elected party chairmen from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, along with members of the zonal executive committee.
Arodiogbu noted that the gathering focused on matters relating to the unity, development and electoral prospects of the party in the South-East region, particularly as political stakeholders begin early positioning ahead of upcoming elections.
He said, “The South East Zonal Executive Committee reaffirms its total and unwavering support for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming presidential election,”
The committee also pledged support for APC governors in the region and other elected officials of the party across different levels of government.
“The Committee equally reiterates its full and unalloyed support for all APC Governors in the South East zone, as well as all elected representatives and officials of the party at federal, state, and local levels,” the communiqué stated.
Among its resolutions, the zonal leadership called on members across the five South-East states to collaborate in strengthening the party’s chances in upcoming elections.
It also emphasised the importance of improving internal unity within the party to grow its membership and enhance its electoral performance in the region.
“The meeting resolved that party members and leaders across the South East zone shall work in unity and with a shared commitment to deliver comprehensive electoral victories for the APC in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and State House of Assembly elections throughout the zone,” Arodiogbu stated.
He further urged party loyalists to maintain their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu while striving to achieve the party’s wider political goals.
