Sowore steps down as AAC chairman, emerges presidential candidate
Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has resigned as the party’s national chairman.
Sowore, who resigned on Thursday during the party’s presidential primary, stated that the party’s Constitution prohibits him from serving as chairman while running for president.
He presented himself as the aspirant after stepping down as national chairman, and the delegates voted him in by shouting aye!
He claimed to have what it takes to lead the country to a better place, citing his experience leading earth-shattering protests and other events in Nigeria.
According to him, through the RevolutionNow and the Endsars protest which he claimed to have started, he has been able to rattle the government.
He said, “I don’t want to be like other politicians, so, I will step down.
“Other parties elected thieves as their prepaid their candidates, ours is different. We are young people who are digital-oriented.
