Speakers’ Forum commiserates with Kogi Assembly over fire incident

The Kogi State House of Assembly has received condolences from the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria on the terrible fire catastrophe that ravaged its facility last week.

This was stated in a press release that Abdul Burra, the spokesperson for forum chairman Abubakar Suleiman, signed and made accessible to journalists in Bauchi late Monday night.

The statement was entitled: ‘Speakers commiserate with Kogi Assembly over fire incident, call for investigation’.

According to Burra, the forum’s chairman, who is also the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, expressed dismay at the tragedy in a sympathy message sent on Monday to Matthew Kolawole, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

“He called on relevant authorities to launch an investigation to unravel the cause of the fire disaster with a view to forestalling its recurrence and prosecuting any culprits who may have been responsible.

“While sending the sympathy of the Conference of Speakers, the Chairman prayed against reoccurrence of the unfortunate incident,” he stated.
