Supreme Court has released Judgement CTC- Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer

The Supreme Court has released the Certified True Copy (CTC) of its decision on Nnamdi Kanu, according to Aloy Ejimakor, one of the lawyers representing the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a post on X (previously Twitter) on Monday, Ejimakor stated that the court also committed to send the case file to the Federal High Court by Tuesday.

Last week, Kanu’s family decried the Supreme Court’s delay in the release of the CTC of its ruling on Kanu’s matter.

On December 15, 2023, the Supreme Court overturned the Appeal Court’s finding, which had previously cleared the IPOB leader of terrorist charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

The apex court ruled that instead, Kanu should be tried at the appropriate court.

Kanu’s family had said the non-release of the CTC by the Supreme Court jeopardised further legal moves the family could have taken.

However, on Monday, Ejimakor said, “Today, the Supreme Court released the CTC of its judgment in ‘Federal Republic of Nigeria versus Nnamdi Kanu’.

“The Court also promised to transmit the case file to the Federal High Court by tomorrow (Tuesday). Sooner than later, we shall lock horns at the Federal High Court to #FreeMNK.”
