Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has received praise from the Nigerian Medical Association for having faith in the nation’s healthcare system enough to undergo surgery in the country.

According to reports, the vice president underwent successful femur surgery on Saturday at the Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos.

A team of six specialized doctors performed the surgical operation, according to a statement from the hospital management and signed by its medical director, Dr. Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi.

The statement read, “The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, was admitted to the Duchess International Hospital GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, today on account of a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone), possibly related to a longstanding injury associated with a game of squash.

“NMA hereby also commends Mr. Vice President for demonstrating confidence in the Nigerian Doctor and Healthcare system. We are certain that he was impressed.
