The Kaduna State Police Command announced on Saturday the arrest of several high-profile suspects, including kidnappers, cattle rustlers, and vandals, in various parts of the state.

In a statement issued to journalists, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, revealed that operatives of Operation Fushin Kada apprehended six suspected kidnappers, one cattle rustler, and five vandals, while recovering firearms and charms during their operations.

On November 12, 2024, officers arrested four members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate operating in Rahama Village, Dutsen Wai, and surrounding areas. The suspects—Yahaya Abdullahi, Shamsu Ibrahim, Linus Obasi, and Hauwa Mohammed—were implicated in the abduction of a woman from Rahama Village. She was held captive for four days until a ransom of ₦3 million was paid.

In another operation on November 6, 2024, the team arrested two additional members of a kidnapping syndicate in Ikara Local Government Area. The suspects, Surajo Hassan and Abdulhadir Usman, confessed to multiple armed robberies and kidnappings, including one case where a victim was held for 60 days and released after a ransom of ₦8 million was paid.

On November 13, 2024, Operation Fushin Kada officers apprehended a 27-year-old cattle rustler, Audu Abdullahi, in Kujama, Kaduna. During interrogation, he admitted being part of a gang that frequently carried out operations using AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons. A search led to the recovery of a locally made firearm and charms used by the group.

The operatives also responded to a distress call from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service regarding suspicious activities at the Kaduna State Trade Fair complex. They arrested three suspects—Salisu Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakar, and Aliyu Isah—for vandalizing armored cable wires at the site. All three suspects, residents of Hayin Na’iya in Kaduna Metropolis, confessed to being part of a syndicate specializing in cable theft.

The suspects further identified their criminal receivers, Abubakar Garba and Isiaku Abdullahi. Investigators extended the operation to Malalin Gabas and Rigasa, successfully apprehending the two individuals, who also admitted their roles in receiving stolen goods.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Abdullahi commended the officers for their dedication and assured the public of the command’s continued commitment to safeguarding infrastructure and ensuring security across the state.
