A tanker exploded in flames after a crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway between Fidiwo bridge and Foursquare in Ogun State, causing traffic.
The unregistered tanker allegedly exploded around 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
Florence Okpe, a spokesperson for the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the incident, adding that three people were involved in the accident but no one was killed or injured.
She said the accident involved an unregistered DAF tanker and another vehicle.
According to her, the suspected cause of the crash was wrongful overtaking which led to the scratching of two vehicles resulting in sparks of fire.
“The fire service men were contacted and traffic diverted immediately, with the crash scene cordoned off to avoid a secondary crash,” the spokesperson said.
