The Chairman of Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State, Umar Yusuf, has revoked all previously issued indigeneship certificates following the introduction of a redesigned version.
The decision was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by the council’s Director of Administration and General Services, Ali Baba.
According to Yusuf, holders of the old certificates are required to visit the Office of the Director of Administration and General Services at the Local Government Secretariat to obtain the newly introduced certificates.
He declared that all old indigeneship certificates currently in circulation have been revoked with immediate effect.
The council urged affected residents to comply with the directive by replacing their old certificates with the new ones issued by the local government.
