In the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano state’s Danzaki Village, a 14-year-old boy named Ashfa Ibrahim drowned on Monday.

This is stated in a statement made accessible to journalists in Kano on Tuesday and signed by Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the state fire fighting department spokesperson.

According to the statement, the tragic tragedy happened on a Monday afternoon.

“We received a distress call from one Ibrahim Abdullahi and we dispatched our rescue team to the scene but the victim was rescued from the stream unconscious,” he said.

“The victim was later confirmed dead by a team of medical doctors at the Gezawa General Hospital,” he added.

He claimed that the victim fell into the open sea after slipping and suffering injuries to his body.

He claimed that the body had since been handed to Muhammed Abdulkarim, the ward chief of Danzaki Village, who would then deliver it to the deceased’s parent for burial.

The police have been tasked with conducting a covert investigation into the incident to determine its cause and choose the best course of action.
