Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name Tems, is a Nigerian singer who has debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
With her appearance on Future’s song “Wait For U,” the singer nailed the goal.
Future’s new LP album, I Never Liked You, includes the eighth track, which features Canadian musician Drake.
While this is her first No. 1, Tems made her Hot 100 debut in October with her appearance on an Essence remix. Wizkid’s smash single, which featured Justin Bieber, reached No. 9 on the charts.
With his participation on Drake’s song One Dance, Wizkid became the first Nigerian to reach the top of Billboard’s Hot 100.
The single, which also featured British vocalist Kayla, did not launch at number one, instead reaching the top a few weeks after its release.
