Prince Emmanuel Kanu has described his detained brother, IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as an “unbreakable lion” in a birthday tribute marking his 58th year.
In a message posted Friday on his verified Facebook account, Emmanuel said his brother’s resilience had surprised those who believed they had silenced him.
He wrote: “Happy Birthday to an unbreakable lion, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“They jailed you with a dead law, yet you are still undefeated, still forcing the government to face appeal.
“They thought they buried you, they didn’t know you are a seed. The great masquerade.”
Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja. He was later transferred to Sokoto Correctional Centre and has appealed his conviction and sentence.
