Three brothers were arrested for robbery in Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police public relations officer, revealed this in a statement on Monday, naming the suspects as Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo, and Tosin Ogundeko.

The fourth person, on the other hand, is a friend. Their arrest was made in response to a report filed by Ijebu Ode residents that some gunmen robbed a lottery agent of N90,000 in the town’s Odi Olowo area.

According to the police spokesman, the robbery suspects also stole a Bajaj motorcycle before being apprehended by a police patrol team.

He stated that the suspects confessed further that they were all based in Epe but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation.

“Upon the distress call, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them by the name Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered,” the statement read.

“The arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining three were apprehended; while one of them, simply identified as Tosin, a.k.a socket, escaped.”

Items recovered from the suspected robbers include one cut-to-size locally-made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

The police commissioner also directed a massive manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang.
