Three people have been confirmed dead and another is in critical condition following a horrifying vehicle accident between a Volkswagen Golf and a trailer on the Evwreni axis of the East-West route in Delta State’s Ughelli North Local Government Area.
According to reports, the victims of the car accident that happened on Saturday were kinsmen traveling to a social event from the same town.
On Saturday night, the incident reportedly resulted in significant traffic on the Ughelli/Port Harcourt Road.
According to reports, members of the Ughelli Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) first transported the accident victims to the emergency room at the Ughelli Central Hospital, where doctors on duty confirmed their demise.
According to reports, one of the casualties was saved by the medical staff.
Ikechukwu Ken, the Unit Commander of the FRSC in Ughelli, confirmed the occurrence and stated that they responded to a distress call.
He also confirmed that three accident victims perished, as reported by the medical professionals.
As of the time this report was filed, DSP Bright Edafe, the police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, could not be reached for comments on the incident.
