The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has identified three reasons why candidates may not see their names on the matriculation list.
In an explainer video shared on its official X account on Friday, the board noted that the first reason was the most common, while the third was considered the most significant.
According to JAMB, one of the reasons candidates may be missing from the list is their failure to accept the admission offered to them through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
“Number one is the most common, while number three is the most important. You have not accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS or your admission status reads not admitted,” the board said.
It advised candidates whose admission status reads “not admitted” to return to their institutions to have their admissions processed.
“If it reads not admitted, return to your institution to process your admission,” JAMB stated.
The board explained that some candidates might not appear on the matriculation list because their institutions had yet to forward their verified matriculation details.
“Your institution admission office has not forwarded your verified matriculation details to JAMB,” it said.
JAMB therefore urged affected candidates to contact their institutions to process their admissions on CAPS.
The board also identified failure to print the JAMB original result slip and admission letter as another reason candidates’ names might be missing from the matriculation list.
“You have not printed your JAMB original results slip and admission letter,” the board said.
It advised such candidates to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test centre to have the documents printed.
“So visit the nearest JAMB office or approved CBT centre and get it printed,” the board advised.
The board urged candidates to follow its social media platforms for further updates and guidance.
