Three siblings, consisting of one boy and two girls from the same parents, tragically perished due to suffocation inside a car parked at their residence in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday.

Shade Silifat, the mother of the children, had gone out to purchase noodles for their school lunches on Monday. Upon returning, she found the children unconscious inside the car parked at No. 8, Boluke Line, Zango-Kulende quarters in Ilorin.

Around 2 p.m., the children had inadvertently locked themselves inside the car, which their father had borrowed from his sister. Their mother discovered their abandoned footwear outside the vehicle and immediately raised the alarm after managing to force open the car doors.

The three children were swiftly rushed to Olutayo Clinic, located near their residence, for urgent medical attention. However, the Medical Director, known as Dr. Adeyemo, advised that they be transferred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where they were tragically pronounced dead.

Following Islamic customs, the three siblings were laid to rest in a Muslim cemetery.
