President Bola Tinubu has granted his approval for the appointment of the board members of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF).
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced this information in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.
He mentioned that the MDGIF would be situated within the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Ngelale conveyed that Tinubu directed the appointees to fulfill their responsibilities with a commitment to upholding the utmost standards of transparency, discipline, and patriotism.
He emphasized that these virtues align with the administration’s objective of strengthening the role of the gas sector in fostering robust and inclusive economic growth for Nigeria.
The appointed officials include Ekperikpe Ekpo as the Chairman of the MDGIF Governing Council, who serves as the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas).
Additionally, Mr. Oluwole Adama has been designated as the MDGIF Executive Director, while Mr. Joseph Tolorunshe assumes the role of MDGIF Governing Council Secretary.
Mr. Farouk Ahmed has been appointed as the Chief Executive of NMDPRA, with representatives from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Finance forming part of the board.
Completing the board are three MDGIF Independent Members: Ms. Amina Maina (representing North-East), Mr. Edet David Ubong (representing South-South), and Mr. Tajudeen Bolaji Musa (representing South-West).
