President Bola Tinubu has appointed new heads of agencies and programmes in the federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday that Tinubu appointed Badamasi Lawal as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

The new NSIPA boss is a former commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs in Katsina.

Lawal will replace Halima Shehu, the former CEO of NSIPA, who was suspended by the president over alleged financial malfeasance.

After Shehu was suspended, Tinubu directed Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, to replace her in acting capacity, pending the conclusion of investigations.

Tinubu also appointed Funmilola Olotu as the programme manager of the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office, while Aishat Alubankudi will manage the grant for vulnerable groups programme.

Aderemi Adebowale, an aide to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, is appointed as the programme manager of the home-grown school feeding programme, while Abdullahi Alhassan Imam will manage the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO).

Ayuba Gufwan is named as the executive secretary of National Commission for People with Disabilities while Lami Binta Adamu Bello is the new director-general (DG) of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
