Tinubu appoints new Almajiri Education Commission leadership team

President Bola Tinubu has authorised the nomination of new members to the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed this in a statement released on Monday.

He stated that Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (Rtd) will now serve as Chairman of the Commission’s Board, with Dr. Idris Muhammad Sani serving as Executive Secretary/CEO.

General Ja’afar Isa is a recognised leader who previously served as Kaduna State’s Military Administrator from 1993 to 1996.

Dr. Muhammad Sani has master’s and doctoral degrees in Islamic studies. He was the Director-General of Al-Iman School Lafia, the Commissioner of Basic/Secondary Education in Yobe State, the Chairman of the Nigerian Arabic Language Village in Borno State, a member of the Nasarawa State Government Committee on Enlightenment Campaign, and the Secretary-General of the Nasarawa State Private Schools Association.

Ngelale stated that the President expects the new appointees to bring their extensive experience to the management of this critical Commission, which has far-reaching consequences for society, by ensuring that his administration’s drive to provide Nigeria’s out-of-school children with the most comprehensive education is realised in the best interests of the country’s future.
