President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to take part in the 37th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) heads of state and government assembly.
The President arrived in Ethiopia on Thursday night, shortly after 10 pm. He was accompanied by several ministers and other high-ranking government officials.
The Presidency had previously announced that Tinubu would participate in high-level meetings with other African leaders. These discussions would cover institutional reforms of the African Union, peace and security matters, specific thematic issues like climate change, and the AU’s involvement and priorities within the G20.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.”
Additionally, Tinubu will attend an extraordinary summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in his capacity as the chairman of the regional body.
