President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for a three-day state visit.

Tinubu landed at Orly Airport in Paris at 5:10 pm local time on Wednesday. His visit, which has been organised at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations. The focus of the visit will be on collaborations in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.

Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, stated that President Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will be hosted on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. The reception will include formal ceremonies and bilateral meetings.

The visit will also involve discussions on enhancing youth-focused exchange programmes, particularly in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.

“Both leaders will engage in political and diplomatic meetings that highlight shared values in finance, solid minerals, trade and investment, and communication,” the statement added. “They will also participate in a session hosted by the France-Nigeria Business Council, which promotes private sector involvement in economic development.”
