President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, to inaugurate projects completed by Babagana Zulum, the governor.
The president is scheduled to commission schools, electric vehicles and other initiatives executed by Zulum in partnership with the federal government.
On Friday, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, said Tinubu would commence a three-state tour of Borno, Bauchi and Lagos on Saturday, December 20.
He added that the president would also attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of Ali Modu Sheriff, a former governor of Borno.
After Maiduguri, Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi to pay a condolence visit to the state government and the family of Dahiru Bauchi, the late Islamic cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27.
Following the condolence visit, the president will travel to Lagos to spend the Christmas and end-of-year holidays.
Tinubu is also expected to participate in several engagements in Lagos, including appearing as the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival slated for December 27.
Onanuga said the festival, to be held at Tafawa Balewa Square, will celebrate notable personalities, including Tinubu’s mother, Abibatu Mogaji, and two former governors — Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola.
