Tinubu arrives Türkiye for state visit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the Republic of Türkiye on a state visit designed to deepen diplomatic and bilateral ties between Nigeria and Türkiye.

The President touched down at Ankara Esenboğan Airport at 9:05 p.m. local time on Monday, according to a statement from the State House media office. He was welcomed by a Turkish delegation headed by the Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin.

Earlier, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that the visit would centre on expanding cooperation in key areas such as security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.

Onanuga noted that both countries are expected to hold strategic political and diplomatic talks focused on shared interests in finance, communication, trade, and investment.

The visit’s programme includes meetings between senior officials of Nigeria and Türkiye, as well as the signing of memoranda of understanding covering fields such as scientific research, energy, technical collaboration, media and communications, military cooperation, and protocol.

In addition, a business forum will be held to connect investors from both nations and explore opportunities for mutual economic benefit.
