Tinubu celebrates Oshiomhole at 71

On Tuesday, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, wished Adams Oshiomhole, the former Governor of Edo State, a happy 71st birthday.

The nation acknowledged his commitment, he continued.

In the run-up to the Tinubu-winning election on February 25, Oshiomhole, the former head of the Nigeria Labour Congress and national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, also held the position of deputy director-general of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The Tinubu praised Oshiomhole for his contribution to the welfare and security of workers in the nation in a statement of congratulations sent from Abuja.

The senator-elect for Edo North constituency, he pointed out, deepened democracy and good administration, particularly in Edo state, where he was governor for eight years.

He claimed that in all of his prior leadership roles, the former APC governor had shown greater bravery and dedication.

He said, “Today, I celebrate with my friend and brother, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, on the occasion of his 71st birthday. Comrade Oshiomhole is a man of courage who made his mark as labour leader, Edo governor and party leader.

“His contributions to economic growth and national development in Nigeria are tremendous and will be a reference point for many years to come.

“I salute his steadfastness and commitment to the ideals of justice, freedom, democracy and good governance which he demonstrated as Governor of Edo State and as National Chairman of our party, the All Progressives Congress.
