President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has offered high praise to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on the occasion of his 65th birthday, calling him one of Nigeria’s most reliable public officials whose integrity and dedication to national development have remained consistent over the years.

In a statement released Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President hailed Ribadu as “a principled reformer, an accomplished security professional, and a steadfast defender of Nigeria,” adding that his contributions continue to strengthen Nigeria’s governance system.

Tinubu lauded the NSA’s remarkable integrity and enduring service to the nation, recalling Ribadu’s groundbreaking tenure as the first Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he spearheaded major reforms that advanced accountability and reinforced Nigeria’s anti-corruption efforts.

The President also reflected warmly on his long-standing relationship with Ribadu, noting more than 15 years of friendship and shared dedication to national progress.

He said: “Since we struck a close relationship over 15 years ago, I have come to acknowledge and appreciate Nuhu’s honesty, forthrightness and camaraderie.”

Tinubu further described Ribadu as a committed and patriotic force within the Renewed Hope Agenda, applauding his transparency and commitment to the administration’s broader security and governance goals.

He added: “As Nuhu turns 65 today, I fervently pray that Almighty Allah will grant him good health and greater wisdom to continue serving our beloved country.”

Mallam Ribadu, a former police officer, anti-corruption advocate, and significant figure in Nigeria’s security landscape, has been serving as NSA since June 2023.
