President Bola Tinubu on Saturday made his first official visit to Enugu State since taking office on 29 May 2023.

During the visit, the President inaugurated several projects initiated by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s administration. These included 30 completed “smart green” schools, part of a larger initiative to build 260 such schools across the state’s wards, and 60 fully equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, also part of a 260-centre state-wide project.

Other commissioned projects included the multi-functional Enugu International Conference Centre, a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, and 90 newly completed urban roads in Enugu City. The President also launched 150 patrol vehicles equipped with AI-driven surveillance cameras.

Accompanying the President were dignitaries such as Abia State Governor Alex Otti, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of Works Dave Umahi.

However, Governors Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Charles Soludo (Anambra), and Francis Nwifiru (Ebonyi) were absent, with no confirmation of deputy representation.
