Tinubu condoles with families of Niger tanker explosion victims

President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Niger State following the petrol tanker explosion on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai road on Sunday, which tragically resulted in the deaths of 48 people and 50 livestock.

According to the Niger Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the explosion also injured many individuals and involved a truck carrying cattle and passengers.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed his sympathy to the families of the deceased and injured, as well as to the owners of businesses affected by the disaster.

He wished a swift recovery for the injured and praised the federal and state emergency agencies for their prompt response.

The President also acknowledged the efforts of Nigerians who mobilized to assist at the scene of the incident and pledged ongoing support for relief efforts.

Additionally, President Tinubu has instructed relevant federal agencies in transportation and road infrastructure to intensify their efforts and collaborate with state governments to improve the safety and security of travelers and residents.
